It seems that I never really did get round to getting very far with 23things last year. This time however I'm part of a team (well I've only just come on board - after all the hard work has been done!!!) who is running the 23things programme here at the University of Southampton for Library Staff, so I better get with it!
I have continued with the same blog name, even though at that time I was working as a Librarian, but on maternity cover. I'm now back to being a Principal Library Assistant in the Cataloguing Office here, but I'm vain enough to want to keep it as Dowling Knitting Librarian - also I think it sounds kind of cool - but am I too old to worry about being cool???
Right onwards with 23things, and finishing my first item of clothing for my friends new baby!
A blog to help me with 23things at the Uni of Southampton, whilst talking knitting!

Am I a professional?
So my first blog EVER, I'm going to try and keep up to date with the 23 Things for Professional Development, but as we all know, work does get in the way.
I'm doing my Chartership and thought why not find out more about what is out there, I've never looked into doing blogs or blogging so this is a first for me, and I hope to learn a lot from this experience. I'm also feeling a little static in my job, I got my degree/qualification 3 years ago and nothing since has changed, although I'm doing a little maternity cover which is great experience. So, I'm hoping this will spur me on to do something more.
Although already I see that my first downfall will be trying to figure out how to tag something!! Now I kind of feel like my mum using the "Internet" for the first time!! Wish me luck!
